Virtual EVBO Workshop – Practical Immunology for Vascular Biologists : Markers, Methods, and Models

Prof. Claudia Monaco and the lab
Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology, University of Oxford
Date: Tuesday, 21 April
Time: 15:00–17:00 CET
Format: Online (Zoom link upon registration)
Duration: 2 hours
For EVBO members only. Participation is free, but registration is required.
About the Workshop
The workshop will introduce vascular biologists to vascular immune cell populations and the practical tools we use to study them. Participants will learn:
- Immune cells typically found in murine aorta and human arteries
- How to profile immune cells using Mass Cytometry (CyTOF)
- How to visualize spatial cellular interactions via Imaging Mass Cytometry
- When and how to apply complementary tools such as scRNA‑seq and spatial transcriptomics
- Practical marker selection, experimental design, and troubleshooting tips
The workshop includes presentations from the Monaco Lab, followed by an interactive Q&A session.
No prior immunology background is required.
