Key findings

1.The interaction of TCHP with PCM1 regulates basal autophagy through controlling GABARAP stability.

2.Loss of TCHP results in impaired autophagy, the accumulation of SQSTM1/p62 and endothelial dysfunction.

3.Reduced TCHP and high SQSTM1/p62 levels are detected in primary endothelial cells from patients with coronary artery disease.

4.Accumulation of SQSTM1/p62 correlates with impaired endothelial function and can be ameliorated by NF‐κB inhibition.
