We are looking for a highly motivated student with a solid background in biological sciences and/or medicine to join a dynamic team headed by Dr. Roxana Ola within the European Center of Angioscience (ECAS), Heidelberg University to investigate the contribution of SMAD4 signaling pathway in liver vascular homeostasis. Our multidisciplinary research project incorporates computational methodologies using next-generation sequencing datasets (RNA-, ATAC- and ChIP-seq) and bioinformatic tools to investigate the cellular and molecular role of Smad4 signaling pathway in developing and adult liver. This highly interdisciplinary project will be at the interface between epigenomics, human disease genomics and cell biology, providing the selected candidate with training opportunities in both experimental and computational biology.
The position is available ASAP and will be financed for three-four years with CRC1316 Funding. The successful candidate will participate in the PhD program in Biomedicine and will receive a PhD from the Faculty of Medicine Mannheim at the University of Heidelberg, Germany.
