Dr. Campagnolo obtained her MSc (summa cum laude with honours) in Industrial Biotechnology at University of Padova, Italy, in 2005 and her PhD in Experimental Cardiovascular Medicine at University of Bristol, England in 2009. She worked as postdoctoral fellow at King’s College London (UK) and Imperial College London (UK), investigating regenerative medicine, tissue engineering and biomaterials approaches for blood vessel replacement and angiogenesis. She joined the University of Surrey in 2016, where she is now Senior Lecturer and research group leader. Dr. Campagnolo serves as EVBO Council member since 2018 and co-manages the organisation’s presence on social media platforms.

Mission statement

Dr Campagnolo’s work focused on the identification of pro-angiogenic cell populations from adult and stem cell sources, and the characterisation of the regenerative potential of perivascular progenitor cells. Her group is currently interested in investigating the molecular and cellular mechanisms of the vascular complications of viral diseases, and the development of ex vivo models for physio-pathological studies of the cardiac and vascular system.
